FSSAI Registration
FSSAI stands for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India who monitors Food Business and issues licenses as per requirements of entrepreneurs. It is one of the autonomous bodies of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
As per the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (FSS Act), the quality of food getting verified by the rules and regulations set by the Food Department. A food License can be issued to the manufacturing, processing, storage distribution, and sale of food products must compulsorily obtain FSSAI Registration or License.
Generally, Food License no is of 14 digits which can be printed on the branding and packaging material. FSSAI can be issued as per rules and regulations set by Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (FSS Act).
Types of Food License:
1)Registration (Pretty Food Business)
Annual turnover of the business is less than 12 Lakhs
2)State License (Medium Food Business)
Annual turnover of the business is between 12 lakhs to 20 crores
3)Central License (Large Food Business)
Annual turnover of the business is above 20 crores
or
Ecommerce business
or
Business across all over India
All Above licenses is for the validity of Between 1 to 5 Years.
Application to Food license is getting through the FOSCO – Food Safety Compliance System (https://foscos.fssai.gov.in)
